Eyebrows Raised After New Poll Reveals Who Is Leading The Race To Become Next US President

A new poll indicates that former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in several key swing states, suggesting that voters have already solidified their opinions ahead of the 2024 presidential election, according to political consultant Dick Morris.

According to a report by News Max on Sunday, June 23, 2024, speaking on Newsmax’s “Saturday Report” on June 22, 2024, Morris emphasized the significance of these findings, particularly in light of Trump’s recent legal challenges.

“This is great news for President Trump, particularly after he’s been convicted of 34 felonies,” Morris said.

“And for him to be able to support this kind of a lead when this has just happened is incredible. It really means that voters, I think, have made up their minds in this race.”

Morris elaborated on the broader implications of the poll results, noting the importance of voter turnout.

“Rasmussen did a study of people who say they’re not going to vote, which in a race where turnout is a big deal, that’s an important finding,” he continued.

“And they find that Trump is leading Biden by a significant amount among people who say that they usually vote but may not vote this time.

And even when you have people who say, ‘I don’t like either of them,’ Trump has a significant lead. So this is all very good news heading into the debate.”

The Emerson poll, released on Thursday, shows Trump leading Biden in six crucial swing states.

In Arizona, Trump holds a 47%-43% lead; in Georgia, he is ahead 45%-41%; in Michigan, he leads 46%-45%; in Nevada, he is up 46%-43%; in Pennsylvania, he leads 47%-45%; and in Wisconsin, he is ahead 47%-44%.

These states are pivotal in determining the outcome of the election, and the poll results suggest a favorable position for Trump.

Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling, commented on the stability of the support for both candidates.

“In our first polling in several key swing states since Trump’s conviction last month, there has been little movement, with support for both Trump and Biden staying largely consistent since November,” Kimball explained.

Morris attributed Trump’s sustained lead to voter confidence in his ability to handle critical issues.

“Voters clearly have decided Trump is going to do the best job on the economy, best job on immigration, and that those are the two key issues,” he said. This perception appears to be driving support for Trump despite his legal troubles.

The poll results come at a time when Trump is navigating significant legal challenges. Last month, he was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments made to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election.

Trump has consistently denied the allegations, maintaining that the case against him is politically motivated. His legal team has indicated plans to appeal the verdict.

Despite these legal issues, the poll indicates that Trump maintains a resilient base of support.

This resilience is reflected in the sentiments of voters who prioritize economic and immigration policies.

The Emerson poll results suggest that these issues are paramount in the minds of voters, potentially outweighing concerns about Trump’s legal controversies.

As the 2024 election approaches, these findings shows the polarized nature of the American electorate.

Trump’s ability to maintain a lead in critical swing states, even after a high-profile conviction, highlights the entrenched positions of his supporters.

For Biden, the challenge will be to sway undecided voters and those who might abstain from voting due to dissatisfaction with both candidates.

The upcoming debates and campaign strategies will be crucial in shaping the final outcome.

As Morris noted, the poll results provide a snapshot of the current political landscape, but the dynamics of voter turnout and issue prioritization will ultimately determine the winner in November.
