A section of the Lagos Blue Line rail track at the NEPA Station, near the Eko Bridge, Apogbon, was gutted by fire on Saturday.

Gboyega Akosile, the spokesman for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, disclosed this on his X handle, stating that no casualty was recorded, as train services were unavailable as of the blaze.

Mr Akosile wrote, “There was a fire outbreak on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track at a spot opposite NEPA Station by Eko Bridge inward Apogbon.

“The incident occurred at 4:12 p.m. No casualty is reported, and no train service at the time of the incident.”

He stated that a team of emergency personnel and other first responders had put out the fire.

Mr Akosile urged residents of the area to go about their businesses peacefully, assuring that the situation is now under control.

“Kindly await further details on the operations of the train from @Lamataonline,” he added.
