Four members of the House of Representatives have dumped the Labour Party for the All Progressives Congress on Thursday.
This was announced by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, on the floor of the chamber during plenary.
The defectors include Chinedu Okere, representing the Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West federal constituency; Mathew Donatus of the Kaura federal constituency in Kaduna; Akiba Bassey of the Calabar Municipal/Odukpani federal constituency in Cross River; and Esosa Iyawe, who represents Oredo federal constituency in Edo.
The lawmakers cited an alleged internal crisis in the LP as the primary reason for their defection.
