Barely 24 hours after her father was attacked, Dr Hussaina Danjuma Goje has resigned as the state Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources.

In a short video and press statement obtained on Saturday by Daily Trust, Husssaina said her resignation was on personal ground.

She appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for giving her the opportunity to serve the state.

“Today Saturday November 6, 2021, I wish to inform the general public and
media organisations that I, Dr Hussaina Goje have tendered my formal resignation from my position as Honorable Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources to His Excellency the Executive Governor or Gombe State Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya effective today.”

“I also wish to inform that my resignation was made based on my personal reasons. With this, I wish to show my appreciation and the opportunity given to me by Governor Yahaya to serve as a member of the Executive Council this administration,” she said.

Daily Trust reports that on Friday, her father, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje was attacked by suspected thugs, who blocked his convoy on his way to Gombe.
