Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has inaugurated the Solution General Hospital in Anaku, Ayamelum Local Government Area.
Speaking at the inauguration on Friday, Mr Soludo said the facility would provide essential medical services to residents of Ayamelum, a community that previously lacked functional healthcare infrastructure and faced challenges accessing quality medical care.
“The opening of this hospital is a testament to our administration’s commitment to ensuring quality healthcare for all Anambra residents, regardless of their location or social and economic background,” Soludo stated.
He added that the facility marked a historic milestone for Ayamelum, describing it as a secondary referral centre serving not only the local population but also neighbouring communities across the region.
“This hospital will address the pressing health needs of our people, reduce medical travel burdens, and significantly improve the overall quality of healthcare services within the area,” the governor said.
Mr Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising human capital development, with particular focus on expanding access to healthcare and education as foundations for sustainable progress and inclusive growth.
“By providing essential medical services here, we are taking a major step towards achieving universal health coverage and improving health indices in our rural communities,” the governor added.
Mr Soludo commended residents for their continued support and urged them to participate actively in the forthcoming Nov. 8 governorship election by voting for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
“Together, we can consolidate ongoing progress and ensure that development reaches every community in Anambra State,” he said.
Earlier, Afam Obidike, Commissioner for Health, announced that 65 health workers had been deployed to the hospital to meet the healthcare needs of residents and ensure efficient service delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Uche Okafor, former speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, hailed Mr Soludo’s administration for its visible impact and people-centered governance.
He urged residents to sustain their backing for the governor and vote APGA in the November 8 election to ensure the consolidation of ongoing progress across the state.
