Gunmen attack school bus in Ondo

Armed men attack a private school bus Thursday morning at Oba Ile Estate in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

A member of staff of the school was kidnapped.

The incident happened just before 7 a.m. as the driver and the victim were going round to pick students.

The assailants were riding on motorcycles when they ambushed the bus.

They dragged the driver out, hijacked the bus and drove away.

The identities of the captives and their whereabouts is still unknown.

The incident has been reported to the Oba Ile Police Station.

According to a source in the school, the gunmen numbering about four and decked in military camouflage
were armed with guns, cutlass and some other weapons.

He said the bus with registration number Lagos, LSD 853 FJ with Chimola Schools inscribed on it was driven away by one of the hijackers while others moved away from the scene on motorcycles.
