Ibas appoints sole administrators for Rivers local government areas, RSIEC chairperson

The Rivers’ sole administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has announced the appointments of local government heads for the 23 LGAs in the state.

Mr Ibas made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday.

He also approved the reconstitution of some boards of agencies, commissions, and parastatals that were earlier suspended.

The new LGA administrators include Okroiyobi Animete (Abua/Odual); Goodluck Iheancho (Ahoada East); Promise Jacob (Ahoada West); Tamunotonye Peters (Akuku Toru); Atajit Frances (Andoni); Ibiaquve Charles (Asari-Toru); Kingsley Banogo (Bonny); Sokari Francis (Dengema); Gloria Obo-Dibiah (Eleme); Franklin Ajinwon (Emohua); Onyenachi Nwankwor (Etche); Gospel Kpee (Gokana); and Isaiah Nobuawu (Ikwerre).

Others are Baridum Nwibere (Khana LGA), Clifford Walter (Obio/Akpor), Chukwuma Aje (Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni), Eliel Owubokir (Ogu/Bolo), Thompson Isodike (Okrika LGA), Manager Wala (Omuma), Fred Apiafi (Opobo/Nkoro), Eletuoo Ihenacho (Oyigbo), Sam Kalagbor (Port Harcourt), and Nuka Gbopah (Tai LGA).

Mr Ibas also approved the appointment of Michael Odey as the chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.

Lazarus Torbira, Arthur Nwafor, Godfrey Mbgudiogha, Joyce Akaninwor, Olive Brue, and Chidi Halliday were appointed as RSIEC members.
