The Concerned Shiroro Youth, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State has commended the combined team of hunters and local vigilantes over a head-on confrontation with criminals around Gurmana forest in Shiroro axis on Tuesday night.

It was gathered that the fight between the team of hunters and local vigilantes on Tuesday resulted in several deaths on the part of the criminals and many others who sustained injures.

The youth group in a press statement signed by Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki, and Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youths and sent to DAILY POST in Minna, said the team exhibited an uncommon bravery and gallantry.

Bandits reportedly attack market in Niger, kill 5, injure scores

The statement reads in part, “the syndicate had successfully rustled herds of cattle around Gurmana axis of Shiroro local government but luck ran out of them and thereafter, they met their waterloo. We reliably gathered that scores of criminals were neutralized during the fierce gun battle and luckily, herds of rustled cattle were forcefully confiscated from the deadly monsters.”

Similarly, the CSY also expressed joy over the news of the deployment of well equipped Joint Security Task Force armed with assorted sophisticated weapons to insecurity prone areas in Shiroro local government.

It stated that with the presence of the new Joint Security Task Force in the council, the people of Shiroro can now have a sigh of relief.

According to the duo, ” the CSO unequivocally commends governments at all levels for restoring security to Bassa and Kukoki communities in Bassa/Kukoki Ward of Shiroro Local Government who were withdrawn at different times in the past.

“With this welcome development, we are enthusiastically confident that our people who are peaceful and law abiding citizens and unfortunately have come under constant and sustained multiple deadly attacks by heartless, venomous, murderous and hydra-headed terrorists will now have a sigh of relief.”

They further hope and pray for sustained operation to be carried out by the Joint Security Task Force stationed in the affected areas, saying, “may we continue to witness similar unprecedented breakthrough in the fight against terrorism and insurgency.”
