Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, Commander, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), advised Plateau women to promote peaceful coexistence in their communities
Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, Commander, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), and General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos, has advised Plateau women to promote peaceful coexistence in their communities.
A statement by Capt. James Oya, OPSH media officer, said on Sunday in Jos that Mr Ali gave the counsel at a peace advocacy meeting organised by Bassa Women for Peace and Unity Initiative.
Represented by Brig.-Gen. Amos Egbejule, his Chief of Staff in OPSH, Mr Ali commended the group for seeking peace, urging women to be peace ambassadors at all levels.
He advised mothers to instill the virtues of peace, tolerance and love in their children and husbands, pointing out that women play key roles toward the growth of every society.
The statement quoted Ali as assuring residents of Plateau and environs that OPSH would continue to use both kinetic and non-kinetic measures to promote lasting peace in Plateau.
The Commander dedicated the award given to him by the group to officers and men of OPSH.
“This award will spur us to be relentless and more committed to discharging our duties,” he said.
