JERUSALEM

Israel has blocked the entry of British Labour Party MPs Abtisam Mohamed and Yuan Yang, according to the Times of Israel on Saturday.

A plane carrying Mohamed and Yang, along with two of their assistants, landed at Ben Gurion Airport at 2.30 p.m. local time (1130GMT) Friday.

Mohamed and Yang, who have been known to frequently demand boycotts against Israel, informed officials during questioning at the airport that they were part of a delegation making an official visit to Israel on behalf of the British parliament.

The Israeli Interior Ministry, however, claimed that no official delegation from the UK parliament was visiting Israel, and subsequently blocked the entry of the MPs and their assistants.

The ministry alleged that the purpose of Mohamed and Yang’s visit was “to document the actions of the Israeli military (attacks) and spread anti-Israel hate speech.”

In February, Israel denied the entry of European Parliament lawmakers Lynn Boylan and Rima Hassan, who were visiting as part of an official delegation.
