The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission says it has scaled up community sensitisation activities to create awareness of the ills of corruption.

The commission’s chairman, Muhuyi Magaji-Rimingado, said this at a town hall meeting on Tuesday in Kano.

He underscored the importance of public sensitisation in combating corruption, adding that the exercise was designed to educate the citizens about the dangers of corruption.

Mr Magaji-Rimingado said the commission, in collaboration with stakeholders, would extend its grassroots enlightenment activities to tackle corruption effectively.

He said the commission had busted a land racketeering syndicate that specialised in using fake land allocation certificates to defraud people.

The chairman reiterated their commitment to the campaign against corruption, warning that perpetrators would be prosecuted.

“We are determined to arrest and prosecute anyone involved in land racketeering, regardless of their rank or affiliation,” he stated.

Justice Dije Aboki, the Kano chief judge, lauded the anti-corruption campaign and pledged continued support to the commission.
