Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Kano have commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in addressing the country’s socio-economic challenges through the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
They also lauded the former APC chair, Abdullahi Ganduje, for his leadership in repositioning the APC at the national level. This was revealed in a communiqué issued at the end of a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held in Kano.
The statement was signed by Abdullahi Abbas, the APC chairman in Kano.
The leaders expressed their readiness to support the implementation of the renewed hope agenda and pledged to contribute to the success of the APC-led federal government. The communiqué noted that the stakeholders also lauded prominent party leaders from the state for their continued grassroots interventions.
The statement also commended Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Kabir Bichi, the party’s 2023 gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates, Nasiru Gawuna and Murtala Garo, Abdurrahman Sumaila, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (downstream); deputy FCT minister Mariya Mahmud and deputy housing and urban development minister Abdullahi Ata, as well as chief executives of federal parastatals.
According to the communiqué, their collective efforts in implementing youths’ and women empowerment initiatives, scholarship schemes, and other economic support programmes had helped reinforce the party’s presence and popularity at the grassroots.
The party leaders also expressed their readiness for the upcoming bye-elections scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission, pledging full mobilisation to ensure the APC retains or reclaims all contested seats in Kano.
The communiqué reiterated the need for the party’s unity, discipline, and loyalty, adding that internal cohesion and mutual respect would be critical to the party’s success in the 2027 general elections. They resolved to continue working in line with the party’s vision under the leadership of Dr. Ganduje and to remain committed to the APC’s values and ideals.
The meeting ended with a renewed pledge to consolidate the party’s gains in Kano and contribute to its national success.
