Late Edwin Clark’s son releases details for father’s funeral

The eldest son to the late leader of the Pan Niger Delta Development Forum (PANDEF), Edwin Clark has announced details of the funeral arrangement for his father.

Penaowei Clark said the former federal commissioner for information will be buried in his hometown in Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State on May 13, 2025.

Speaking at a ceremony organised by the family at the Clark’s residence, Penaowei said burial rights for the late PANDEF leader will commence on Wednesday, May 7, with a lecture at the NAF Conference Centre & Suites Abuja.

He said the lecture which would be held

In honour of the late Clark would begin at 11 am.

On Thursday, May 8, there will be a valedictory session at the Senate Chamber of the National Assembly at 11 am.

The next day, Friday, May 9, at the NAF Conference Centre & Suites, Abuja there would be a Day of Tribute at 3 pm while Saturday, May 10, has been slated for a wrestling contest in Yenogoa.

Still on May 10, there would be a service of songs at the St. James’ Anglican Church, Asokoro, Abuna at 5 pm.

On Sunday, May 11, the family will not welcome guests for the Boat Regatta; Port Harcourt Masquerade, Candlelight Memorial

“Monday, 12th May, 2025. Event: Commendation Service, Time: 8 am; Venue: National Christian Centre, Abuja; Event: Valedictory Court Session (to be held simultaneously); Time: 10am. Venue: High Court of Justice, Warri, Delta State. 10:30am Body departs from Abuja to Yenagoa, Bayelsa State; 1:30-2:30 pm Commendation Service at Ijaw House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State; 2:30 pm Body departs to Warri, Delta State. 6:30-7 pm Lying in state at No. 5, Swamp Road, Warri, Delta State.

“Tuesday, 13th May 2025; 10 am-10:30 am Lying in state at Edwin Clark University, Kiagbodo Town, Delta State. 10:30-11 am Commendation Service at Edwin Clark University, Kiagbodo, Delta State. 11 am Funeral service. 1pm Reception. 5pm Internment All-night vigil,” Penaowei said.
