The parties that formed the APC through a coalition in 2013 were the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), a breakaway of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) referred to as N-PDP, and a section of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
