The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, says the military is working tirelessly to free the students abducted in Kuriga, Kaduna State, and other victims across the country.

The CDS assured Nigerians that the security forces would expose those behind the evil machinations and bring them to justice.

Mr Musa gave the assurance on Monday when he visited Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State at the Government House in Kaduna to commiserate with the people over the Kuriga school abduction.

“What is happening will end soon,” he added.

“There are individuals who don’t want to see the nation develop; they are after causing rancour and mayhem.

“Their wish is that by the time the state is in rancour, no one will want to invest in the state or the nation at large.

“They are working on their own evil plan, but God is on our side and we are working tirelessly to ensure we secure the state, the country, the citizens and most especially to free all the abducted ones,” the CDS added.

Mr Musa said the military welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to supporting the armed forces.

“On this, we are reassuring you that we are not sleeping. There are many troops coming and we are taking more actions to safeguard and bring the children out safely, as quickly as possible,” he added.

The CDS said the Armed Forces would not allow them to go through the trauma and feel that they have been neglected.

“You, the parents, we know, have been having sleepless nights; we are also experiencing the same. For those individuals who have sworn there will be no peace, they will equally see no peace, and we will follow them anywhere they are.

“Those who are sponsoring them should stop for their own good. The state cannot be put under the control of anybody; anybody who will stand in the way of getting peace in Nigeria will be brought to book,” he said.

Responding, the governor thanked the armed forces and the police for the support they have been giving to the government since the kidnapping incident.

According to him, the state government is making progress by working with relevant security agencies, volunteers and the families of the abducted children.

Mr Sani said the government was doing everything necessary to protect the people and their properties.

On March 7, terrorists abducted 287 primary and secondary school students in Kuriga, Kaduna State.
