AUSTIN, Texas: One day after meeting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Florida this week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he would not donate money to Trump or Democratic President Joe Biden in this year’s U.S. presidential election.
Reuters reported that Trump met with billionaire Musk and a small group of other people in Florida over the weekend.
Former President Trump was seeking significant cash funding for his campaign.
“Just to be super clear, I am not donating money to either candidate for U.S. President,” Musk said in a post on his social media platform X.
To counterbalance Biden’s Democrats, in 2022, Musk asked Americans to elect a Republican Congress in U.S. midterm elections.
Although people without U.S. citizenship are not eligible to vote in federal elections, Musk previously stated on X that Biden is encouraging migrants to come to the U.S. so they can vote for the Democrats.
