This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Katsina by the spokesperson of the NSCDC in the state, Mohammed Tukur-Abdara.

According to him, the operatives have been detailed for deployment in collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force and other Security agencies across the state.

“The general elections is an important part of our democratic history where Nigerians will have the opportunity to elect their leaders.

“Security agencies have a very crucial role to play to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.

“The NSCDC Katsina Command, under the leadership of Commandant Jamilu Indabawa, has concluded all arrangements to maintain law and order before, during and after the elections,” he said.

Mr Tukur-Abdara said that the operatives include officers and men deployed to polling units and collation centers, armed operatives to guard INEC offices, critical national assets, patrols, and undercover operatives for surveillance.

He added that the command will also maintain a fully coordinated emergency call Centre with sister agencies to respond to any security breach during the election.

Mr Tukur-Abdara said that the Centre can be reached through the following Numbers; 07088882268 and 08135277779, adding that all Nigerians have a stake in ensuring a peaceful electioneering atmosphere.

“Therefore, Commandant Indabawa is urging the good people of the state to cooperate with INEC and other stakeholders to achieve a peaceful election.

“To the politicians, the Commandant is also admonishing to them to conduct themselves within the confines of the law and to caution their supporters against any conduct that may destabilise the elections.

“To the aggrieved, I advised you to seek redress through the legal avenues in accordance with the existing laws,” Mr Tukur-Abdara said.

The NSCDC spokesperson added that Mr Indabawa has warned hoodlums and other detractors to stay off the state.

“The Command will not take it lightly with any person found trying to bring the process into disrepute and threaten the existing peace during the elections.”

He explained that the Commandant urged the general public to always report any suspicious people or movements to security agencies for proactive measures to be taken to avert breakdown of law and order.
