Governor Caleb Mutfwang has approved a partial relaxation of the curfew imposed earlier on the Jos North Local Government Area.

The state’s commissioner for information and communication, Joyce Ramnap, said in a statement on Tuesday that the curfew will now be relaxed, effective April 1, 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.

“‎Effective from 1st April, 2026, the curfew will now be observed from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Residents are hereby permitted to carry out their lawful activities within the stipulated hours,” the statement read.

The government called on residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, assuring that security agencies will continue close monitoring of the situation to maintain peace and order.

It also commended citizens for their cooperation and resilience during the period of heightened tension, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

Mr Mutfwang had imposed a curfew on the LGA after a violent attack on residents of Angwan Rukuba, which left about 28 residents dead.
