A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Jos on Friday sentenced a 32-year-old panel beater, Sunday Fabian and a 42-year old plumber, Jeremiah Joseph, to 12 months’ imprisonment.

AChief Magistrates’ Court in Jos on Friday sentenced a 32-year-old panel beater, Sunday Fabian and a 42-year old plumber, Jeremiah Joseph, to 12 months’ imprisonment each for trespassing on a wildlife park and cutting down trees.

The judge, Simi Drenkat, sentenced Messrs Joseph and Fabian after they pleaded guilty to the offence.

The judge, however, gave them an option to pay a fine of N40,000 each or serve 12 months in prison.

Prosecution counsel Yange Terzugwe told the court that the case was reported on January 18, at the Rantya Police Station by members of staff of Plateau Tourism Cooperation.

The prosecutor said the convicts trespassed on the park and cut down trees.

The offence is punishable under sections 59,313, 333 and 57 of the Plateau Penal Code law.
