The Peoples Democratic Party has charged the newly elected State Working Committee in Ebonyi to ensure active participation by members in the ongoing e-registration of the party.

Chidiebere Egwu, South-East national vice-chairman of the party, gave the charge in Abakaliki on Tuesday, saying there was a need to work as a team ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mr Egwu also urged the new executive to work with stakeholders to ensure that every member was carried along in rebuilding the party in the state and across the country.

“We must hit the ground running by ensuring that members of the party actively take part in the e-registration in line with the new electoral guidelines as prescribed by the Electoral Act 2025, which was recently signed into law,” he added.

The party inaugurated its SWC on Saturday, led by Chukwuma Igwe.

Other members of the new executive are Henry Ngonu, the state secretary; Elechi Ngwuta, deputy chairman; Kingsley Igwe, treasurer; Okohue Nkaa, legal adviser; Chukwudi Goodluck, organising secretary; Nnanna Emea Oji, youth leader; Chinyere Nwele, women leader; Darlington Onwe, publicity secretary; Emmanuel Abraham, financial secretary; Francis Alegu, auditor; Idris Oken, vice-chairman (Central), Ugochukwu Obasi (vice-chairman, South); and Nwojiji Chinazum (vice-chairman, North).
