The Lagos police command has arrested two persons over a 22-year-old lady who recently went missing after she boarded a BRT bus in the state.

Peoples Gazette had earlier reported that on February 26, Ayanwole Oluwabamise went missing after boarding a BRT bus with the number 240257 from Chevron bus stop, Lekki, to Oshodi at about 7:00 p.m.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the state police command said investigation was ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the lady’s disappearance.

“This is to inform the general public and particularly assure the distraught family of Ms Ayanwole Oluwabamise, a 22-year-old lady who boarded a BRT bus in Lagos from Chevron bus stop, Lekki, heading to Oshodi on February 26, 2022 at about 1900hrs and has not been seen till date,” the statement reads.

“As soon as the report got to the police, investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the lady was immediately initiated,” the statement partly reads.

Also, the state commissioner of police, Alabi Abiodun, has directed that the case be transferred to the state criminal investigation department, Panti.

“To ensure a speedy and diligent investigation, the Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc, mnim, psc, immediately directed the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti to take over the case,” according to the statement.

“In the course of ongoing investigation, two suspects have been arrested and are currently helping in our investigation,” the police said, calling for people with useful information to contact the nearest station.

The police said the missing lady hails from Moba LGA in Ekiti, is about 5 feet plus tall, dark in complexion and speaks Yoruba and English languages fluently.
