The police in Adamawa confirmed the arrest and detention of four police officers for alleged indiscipline and breach of standard operating procedure.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

He said that the officers used excessive force and shot in the air to effect the arrest of a suspect.

The police said the unfortunate incident occurred on October 14 at Sabon Gari quarters, Fufore LGA of Adamawa.

Police commissioner Dankombo Morris, who frowned upon the unprofessional conduct displayed by the police officers, urged members of the public to remain calm as the law will definitely take its course.

Mr Morris directed the assistant commissioner of police in charge of the IGP’s X Squad to conduct a thorough and diligent investigation on the matter.
