President Bola Tinubu was momentarily transfixed on Thursday amid an apparent security breach as his bodyguards scrambled to stop an intruder from reaching him on stage.

A video of his televised address in Kaduna showed what appeared to be a security breach.

Mr Tinubu was giving a speech in Kaduna on Thursday when he abruptly froze mid-sentence as he witnessed his security detail scrambling to protect him against a potential threat.

It was unclear who the individual was and what his motive was for approaching the stage where the Nigerian president was delivering a speech.

Whatever the case, the presidential security detail was able to stop the intruder from reaching Mr Tinubu and was whisked away.

Shortly after the incident, the president was heard saying, “Leave him (referring to the intruder) alone” and continued his speech.

Meanwhile, in Kano, a group of angry youths destroyed Mr Tinubu’s 2027 campaign billboard, venting their frustration against the president.
