BELGRADE

Serbia has agreed to extend its natural gas supply agreement with Russia for another three months, President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday.

Speaking after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Vucic described the extension as secured under “very favorable conditions.”

He said energy was a key topic, along with other issues, and stressed the deal’s significance to Serbia’s economy.

“We discussed literally all areas,” Vucic said, adding that he had thanked Putin for agreeing to the extension.

The leaders also discussed regional and international developments, according to Vucic. He briefed Putin on military cooperation involving Kosovo, Albania and Croatia.

Serbia continues to rely on Russia for its energy supply. Vucic said ensuring access to natural gas under flexible and favorable terms remains critical for the country.
