Sowore declares interest to contest 2023 presidential election

In 2019 when Mr Sowore first contested for President under the AAC, he garnered 33,953 votes.

Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, says he’ll again contest for president in 2023. 

Mr Sowore’s declaration took place at the Women Development Center Abuja on Tuesday. 

Earlier on Tuesday, he had hinted that he would be declaring to contest to be Nigeria’s president.

“Today in Abuja at 12 noon I will be declaring my intention to run for the position of President, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Mr Sowore wrote on his Facebook page. 

In 2019, Mr Sowore first contested for President under the platform of AAC, garnering 33,953 votes.
