Nigeria’s Super Eagles remain 26th in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings list released for March after a 2-1 win over Iran and a 2-2 draw against Jordan during last month’s international break.

The results ensured that Nigeria, currently on 1585.09 points, stays over five points clear of 27th-placed Australia, as the Super Eagles maintain their position as the third best team in Africa.

At the apex, France ascended to the top spot after jumping two places, with Spain and Argentina dropping to second and third respectively. England remain fourth in the table while Portugal climbed one spot to fifth.

Brazil dropped to sixth followed by seventh-placed Netherlands, with Morocco sitting eighth to remain the best African country in the world. Belgium is ninth while Germany completed the top 10 in the world.

Meanwhile, Senegal, which currently sit 14th on the list, is the second highest-placed African country as Algeria (28th) and Egypt (29th) rounded out the top five countries in the rankings.

Nigeria has a chance to further boost its FIFA ranking during the next international break, with the Eagles scheduled to face Poland and Portugal in friendly matches in June.
