MOSCOW

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa arrived in Russia on Wednesday for the first official visit since he assumed his post in December 2024, local media said.

Sharaa will meet with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, during his visit to discuss “regional and international developments of mutual interest, and ways to expand cooperation in areas serving the shared interests of both nations,” the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
