The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), through NNPC Retail Limited, its downstream subsidiary, has assured adequate supply of petroleum products across the country during Yuletide.
Executive director of the retail company, Lawan Bello, gave the assurance during the 2021 customer service week event in Abuja.
He said petroleum products consumers that there will be no fuel scarcity as plans were already in place to ensure adequate supply, while advising against any form of sharp practices and panic buying.
Tanker drivers union under NUPENG had threatened to embark on an industrial action if the conditions of highways didn’t improve. The body said roads across the country have become death traps for its members due to their dilapidated state.
NNPC however rebuked the threat, saying the strike could cause a crisis in the energy sector.
The customer service week is commemorated globally in the first week of October. This year’s event was marked from 4th to 8th October, with the theme ‘’the Power of Service’’.
NNPC Retail Limited is into retailing of refined petroleum products such as PMS, AGO, DPK, lubricants and LPG or cooking gas among others.
