President Bola Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday for the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which begins on Monday.

The president’s aircraft landed at the presidential wing of Zayed International Airport at 11:30 p.m. local time.

This is disclosed in a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday.

Mr Tinubu was received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s deputy foreign affairs minister, and the UAE ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi.

Also at the airport were Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and members of the Nigerian diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi.

Several Nigerian officials, including the minister of budget and planning, Atiku Bagudu, welcomed the President at his hotel.

Others were the minister of industry, trade, and investment, Jumoke Oduwole, and the director-general of the National Intelligence Agency, Mohammed Mohammed.

Mr Tinubu arrived from Europe, where he held consultations with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The 2026 ADSW, themed ‘The Nexus of Next, All Systems Go’, will focus on sustainable development, climate action, energy transition, and inclusive growth.
