The Police Service Commission on Thursday announced it will open a portal for the recruitment of 50,000 police constables on December 15.
The recruitment portal will close next year, on January 25, 2026.
This was announced in a statement by the PSC on Thursday.
“The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), is pleased to announce the commencement of recruitment of Fifty Thousand (50,000) police constables into the Nigeria Police Force, as directed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” said the statement.
It added, “Following this presidential directive aimed at strengthening community policing, enhancing internal security and expanding the manpower base of the Nigeria Police Force, the Commission has approved the opening of the recruitment portal for applications from eligible Nigerians.”
The commission said all applications must be submitted online via www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.
Qualifications for general duty cadre applicants are GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents with a minimum of five credits (including English Language and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings.
Applicants for the specialists cadre must be holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent, with a minimum of four credits (including English Language and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings. A minimum of three years’ experience and Trade Tests in relevant fields or areas are required, according to the statement.
Eligible candidates for the recruitment are Nigerian citizens by birth, aged 18 to 25.
They must also be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and not be less than 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female) in height (for general duty only), among other requirements.
