Former Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has berated President Bola Tinubu’s government as an evil that will destroy Nigeria, which he contributed to bringing upon the country, adding that he is joining the coalition to oust Mr Tinubu from office in 2027.

In an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Mr El-Rufai said, “I just feel that having contributed to bringing this tragedy upon Nigeria by contributing to the emergence of Bola Tinubu as president of Nigeria, I should contribute in my last lap, let me contribute toward removing this evil I believe will destroy Nigeria if left unchecked.”

Last week, Mr Tinubu had hailed Uba Sani, Mr El-Rufai’s successor, saying he has transformed Kaduna into a better place from the toxic state it was under Mr El-Rufai’s watch.

Mr El-Rufai dumped the All Progressives Congress to join the Social Democratic Party a few months ago, after his ministerial appointment nomination was blocked by the Senate. Mr El-Rufai accused Mr Tinubu of being behind the blocking of his appointment.

Before now, Mr El-Rufai had berated Mr Tinubu as a failure and admitted he supported him to be president despite knowing his Chicago cocaine and certificate forgery scandals.
