  • However, daily infections in Italy fell to 17,567 from 18,938 one day earlier.
  • Since February 2020, Italy has seen 113,923 COVID-19 deaths. This is the second-highest toll in Europe, after Britain.

ROME, Italy: As Covid-19 rages throughout Europe, Italy recorded 344 coronavirus-related deaths on Saturday and 718 the day before. However, daily infections fell to 17,567 from 18,938 one day earlier.

Since February 2020, Italy has seen 113,923 COVID-19 deaths. This is the second-highest toll in Europe, after Britain.

To date, Italy has reported 3.75 million cases of Covid 19.

Additionally, there were 27,654 patients being treated in Italian hospitals, as of Saturday, with 186 new admissions to intensive care units.

Also, there were 3,588 patients in the nation’s intensive carer units, down from 3,603 one day earlier.

Some 320,892 tests for COVID-19 were carried out in the past day, compared with a previous 362,973, the health ministry reported.
