The boys were lured into a tricycle with biscuits by two strangers dressed in native attires while returning from school.

Two children who had been missing for two days in Ijesha area of Lagos were found alive inside an abandoned vehicle on Sunday morning.

The four-year-olds, Wasiu Dauda and Alimeen Ibrahim, were abducted on Friday at Akorede market in Ijesha.

The boys were lured into a tricycle with biscuits by two strangers dressed in native attires while returning from school.

Iyabo Omotunde, a relative to one of the kids, said that the boys were found in an abandoned bus at a warehouse within the premises of the market.

Mrs Omotunde said some neighbours saw the children banging the bus, and went to inform the parents that their children had been found.

“Some people noticed that something was hitting the bus, so they peeped and saw the children.

“They came to call us because they could not touch them. So, when we got there, the door was shut, we broke it down,” Mrs Omotunde said.

“As of Saturday, the bus was not there because we searched the area. We have told the police, they have punctured the tyres,” she added.

Mrs Omotunde said the children were taken to the hospital but have now been discharged.

One of the victim’s mothers, Awau, also confirmed that the children have been found.

“We have found them. They were found in an abandoned minibus,” she said.

This incident comes barely one week after Oluwabamise Ayanwola, the 22-year-old lady who went missing for days after boarding a BRT bus was found dead at Carter Bridge in Lagos.
