LONDON, England: Only 14 percent of people polled in the UK said incoming Prime Minister Liz Truss will be a better prime minister than Boris Johnson, with some 27 percent saying she will be worse, according to a snap poll by YouGov released this week.
Taking over from Johnson, Truss must deal with a host of issues facing the country, from a worsening cost-of-living crisis to an impending recession.
Truss, who has said in the past that she favoured tax cuts over “handouts,” pledged to begin immediate action in her first week to tackle rising energy bills and increase energy supplies.
According to YouGov, half of those polled said they were disappointed about Truss being the next leader, with some 20 percent saying they have confidence in Truss’s government to solve the cost-of-living crisis.
The YouGov poll contacted 2,488 adults.
