KIEV

Ukraine has claimed that Russia launched 119 attack drones overnight Saturday, targeting multiple regions, while also carrying out hundreds of attacks over the past week using various weapons.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that 73 Shahed-type drones and other UAVs were shot down in several regions, while 37 enemy decoy drones were lost from tracking but caused no damage. Attacks affected the regions of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia, according to officials.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Russia had launched “hundreds of attacks” on Ukraine throughout last week, using “about 1,200 guided aerial bombs, nearly 870 attack drones, and more than 80 missiles of different types.”

“Every Shahed drone and every aerial bomb used by Russia includes components supplied in violation of sanctions. This weaponry contains over 82,000 foreign-made parts,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.

He stressed that Ukraine is working with its partners daily to secure more air defense systems, investments in domestic defense production, and tougher sanctions against Russia.

“We continue our work to bring a just peace and ensure reliable security guarantees,” he added.

Ukraine has repeatedly urged Western allies to tighten restrictions on technology exports to Russia, claiming that its military continues to receive critical foreign-made components despite sanctions.
