HAMILTON, Canada

The UN Security Council will convene Tuesday to discuss Ukraine’s claims of a strike on a children’s hospital in the capital Kyiv.

The 15-member council will gather at 10 a.m. local time (1400GMT) in New York, Britain’s UN ambassador said Monday.

“We will call out Russia’s cowardly and depraved attack on the hospital last night,” Barbara Woodward wrote on X.

Russia currently holds the Security Council term presidency.

Earlier Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of striking the children’s hospital in Kyiv, on the eve of this week’s NATO summit in the US.

Russia’s Defense Ministry denied the claims
