UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi arrived in Russia on Friday for discussions with Alexey Likhachev, head of Russia’s nuclear corporation Rosatom.

The meeting, hosted at Khrabrovo Airport in Kaliningrad, focuses on nuclear safety, according to a statement from Rosatom’s press service.

Joining Likhachev in the consultations are Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, and Aleksey Rtishchev, chief of the Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation includes Massimo Apuzzo, IAEA deputy director general and head of the Safeguards Department.
