ThankGod Christopher-Ibeh, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, has expressed confidence in his chances of winning the seat.
Mr Ibeh expressed this in an interview with journalists in Lagos on Sunday.
He said his agenda, if elected, would focus on skills acquisition, youth empowerment, healthcare, infrastructure and effective legislative representation for the constituency.
According to him, his proposed skills acquisition programme would ensure that young people acquire practical skills that could improve their economic independence and employment prospects.
“I will introduce a programme of one youth, two skills, so that our young people can acquire practical skills that will enable them to become economically independent,” he said.
Mr Ibeh also pledged to create opportunities for youths through partnerships with relevant government agencies, private organisations and other stakeholders.
He said that vulnerable groups, including widows and elderly residents, would receive monthly financial support as part of measures to improve their welfare.
“For the elderly and vulnerable members of the constituency, I will introduce programmes that will provide regular support and improve their quality of life,” he said.
The APGA candidate said he would also pursue measures to improve healthcare delivery across communities in Amuwo-Odofin by facilitating better access to medical services and supporting the upgrade of healthcare facilities.
Mr Ibeh promised to facilitate the rehabilitation and provision of critical infrastructure, including roads, drainage and other projects capable of improving living conditions in the constituency.
He pledged effective representation through the sponsorship of bills and motions that would address the needs of his constituents.
“I will not just occupy a seat in the National Assembly; I will sponsor bills and move motions that will address issues affecting the people of Amuwo-Odofin,” he said.
Mr Ibeh said he would use his legislative position and relationships with relevant institutions to attract development projects and opportunities to the constituency.
He added that his proposed agenda would also give attention to education, economic empowerment and support for small businesses as part of efforts to improve the welfare of residents.
The APGA candidate urged residents to assess candidates based on their programmes, credibility and commitment to effective representation ahead of the 2027 election.
He said his ambition was to provide purposeful representation and remain accountable to constituents throughout his tenure if elected.
“I am seeking this office because I want to serve the people and ensure that the benefits of representation are felt across Amuwo-Odofin,” Mr Ibeh said.
