Abuja, Feb. 11, 2021 – The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday called for stronger collaboration with Nigeria Customs Services in a bid to promote national growth.
Managing Director of NAN, Mr Buki Ponle, made the call when the Comptroller-General of Customs, retired Col. Hameed Ali paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Ponle said that a renewed partnership was critical in moving the country forward.
“Because of your leadership role, the News Agency of Nigeria will want to partner with you because we have all it takes to make Nigeria great and customs a greater entity.
“This is a one stop shop, the multimedia, the text and the features are there and everything you need in the media industry is in NAN. If you talk to NAN, you have talked to the whole world,’’ Ponle said.
On his part, Ali assured of Customs commitment to a renewed partnership with NAN.
He said: “be rest assured that NAN is my home and the partnership we had before will be strengthened by the grace of God.
“We will work together to project and of course grow this nation.
“We have no other place to go other than Nigeria. So, if it is bad we are all here and if it is good we are all in it.
“What we do covers most parts of Nigeria, so, it is from you we will be able to get feedbacks.
“I am sure you observe some of the things we do, some of the innovations and some of the misdeeds of our office and that is the only way we can correct it and make sure that our service is thriving for the best,’’ Ali said. (NAN)
