South African broadcast company, MultiChoice, has once again increased the prices of both its DStv and GOtv packages amid economic challenges in Nigeria.

On Monday, a statement titled “Price adjustment on DStv and GOtv packages” and signed by the chief executive officer, John Ugbe, disclosed that the new prices will take effect from March 1.

The statement, which showed each bouquet on GOtv and DStv with its new price, read:  “Dear valued partner, Please be informed of the price adjustment to our DStv and GOtv subscription packages effective 1st March 2025.”

The company explained that the increase is a result of the economic challenges it continues to face in Nigeria and that the decision was made after careful consideration and analysis.

“Due to prevalent economic factors leading to increased operational costs, we have unavoidably had to adjust the prices of our DStv and GOtv subscription packages. We understand the impact this change may have on our valued partners, and we have only taken this step after careful consideration and in-depth analysis,” the statement continued.

MultiChoice assured its customers that it will continue delivering the best entertainment and top-notch service, while also thanking them for their continuous patronage.

“It has always been our mission to offer the best entertainment to our esteemed customers, and we are committed to continuing to deliver high-quality content and unparalleled service to our viewers across Nigeria.

“We thank you for your continued partnership and support and reassure you of our unwavering commitment to delivering the best viewing experience in Nigeria.”

For DStv packages, Compact users will now pay N19,000 up from N15,000 while Compact Plus users will pay N30,000 up from N24,500.  Premium users will now pay N44,500 up from N29,500.

The GOtv Max package now costs N8,500; Supa, N11,400 and Supa Plus, N16,800.
