Samuel Ogbuku, the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, says ongoing reforms and digitisation initiatives will drive service delivery and operational efficiency.

A statement by Seledi Thompson-Wakama, NDDC’s spokesman, said that Mr Ogbuku made the statement during his visit to the commission’s office in Yenagoa.

Mr Ogbuku said that the reforms were part of the management’s efforts to reposition the commission.

He said that the reforms and digitalisation initiatives were critical to modernising the institution and improving its operational standards.

“The reforms will streamline workflow processes and eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks affecting service delivery.

“The digitisation programme will promote transparency, accountability and operational efficiency within the commission,” he said.

The managing director expressed optimism that the initiative would make NDDC more responsive to the region’s developmental needs.

Mr Ogbuku further said that the interaction with members of staff provided management with an opportunity to strengthen internal engagement mechanisms.

He urged staff members to embrace the reforms and remain committed to the commission’s transformation efforts.

“The commitment of members of staff remains central to our drive towards delivering sustainable development projects and improved living standards for the people. Your cooperation and professionalism are essential to achieving the desired reforms and strengthening the commission,” he said.

The director of the NDDC Bayelsa office, Godknows Alamieyeseigha, expressed confidence in the reform process.

He assured the management that staff members would continue to provide quality service for the benefit of the region.
