Senator Ireti Heebah Kingibe’s impressive list of accomplishments in her first year in office is evidence of her dedication and tireless efforts to improve the lives of her constituents in the FCT Senatorial District.

Her numerous infrastructure projects, empowerment programs, and motions/bills demonstrate her commitment to the well-being and development of her community.

Transforming Infrastructure
Senator Kingibe has initiated and completed numerous infrastructure projects that have significantly improved the living standards of her constituents. Key projects include:

  1. Construction of a 0.6KM asphalt road on Ishan Road in Karu: This project has greatly enhanced transportation and accessibility for the residents.
  2. Solar Streetlights Installation:
    23 streetlights in five communities in Mpape (Ajegunle, GRA, Sangaruwa, Anajie, Gbagi Village, and Mashapa Road).
    22 streetlights in Karimajiji.
    21 streetlights in Kwali.
    21 streetlights in Jikwoyi.
  3. Construction of a 50-Bed Hospital in Dobi, Gwagwalada: This ongoing project underscores her focus on improving healthcare infrastructure.
  4. Road and Drainage Construction in Kpaduma 1 & 3, AMAC Area Council: This project has improved the living conditions in these areas.
  5. Construction of Perimeter Fence, External Work, and Furnishing of Health Care Centres in Three Area Councils: Enhancing healthcare access and facilities.
  6. Construction of Perimeter Fencing and Gatehouse for Retired Civil Servant Quarters: Improving security and living conditions for retired civil servants.
  7. Rehabilitation of Boreholes in Six Area Councils: Ensuring access to clean water in AMAC, Bwari, Kwali, Kuje, Gwagwalada, and Abaji.
  8. Provision and Installation of Transformers: Enhancing the power supply in selected communities with 5 Nos 300/33KVA and 5 Nos 300/11KVA transformers.
  9. Completion of Angwan Dodo Roads in Gwagwalada LGA: Improving transportation and connectivity.
  10. Construction of Roads and Drainages at Pai in Kwali, AMAC Area Council: Enhancing infrastructure and accessibility.
  11. Construction and Asphalting of a 1.5KM Road in Jikwoyi Phase 1: Enhancing transportation infrastructure.
  12. Practical Training Programme on Agripreneurship for Youth in FCT Senatorial District: Providing youths with skills for sustainable agriculture.
  13. Construction of Comprehensive Boreholes Across AMAC/BWARI, FCT: Ensuring clean water supply.
  14. Study and Design of the Consultant Office Block at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada: Supporting educational infrastructure.
  15. Study and Design of the Road from the Academic Core to Giri Staff Housing Quarters at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital: Enhancing university infrastructure.
  16. Construction of the Consultant Office Block at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital: Further improving educational infrastructure.
  17. Provision for the Construction of the Road from the Academic Core to Giri Staff Housing Quarters at the University of Abuja: Supporting university infrastructure.

Empowering the Community
Senator Kingibe’s empowerment programs have benefited numerous individuals, including youths, women, and artisans, providing them with the necessary tools and resources to succeed. Highlights include:

  1. Household Equipment Distribution: Providing essential equipment to less privileged and rural women in the FCT (ongoing).
  2. Agripreneurship Training: Practical training programs equipping youths with skills for sustainable agriculture.
  3. Economic Empowerment: Provision of tricycles, laptops, and motorcycles to youths in the FCT Senatorial District.
  4. Rice Distribution: Distribution of 15,000 bags of 5kg rice to families in need.
  5. Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Training: Recruitment of 15,000 candidates for ITF training programs.
  6. Military Recruitment: Recruitment of 50 candidates into the Army.
  7. Job Creation: Securing jobs for over 100 FCT residents through various government parastatals.

Empowerment Programs in Detail

  1. Senator Kingibe’s empowerment initiatives extend to comprehensive programs targeting various groups:
  2. Sensitization and Advocacy/Awareness Campaign on Youth Trafficking and Abuja City Festival/Carnival: Educating and sensitizing youths on trafficking issues.
  3. Sensitization Workshop and Film Grants: Providing workshops and grants for film logistics for women and youths in Gwagwalada, Kuje, Abaji, and Kwali Area Councils.

SMEDAN Grants: Financial support for artisans in multiple Area Councils, aiding in skill development and business growth.

Participants in these programs receive practical tools such as sewing machines, hairdressing kits, and barbing equipment, along with cash grants to help them start their businesses.

Legislative Achievements
Her motions and bills, including the security motion and the gender bill, demonstrate her commitment to addressing pressing issues and promoting gender equality. Key legislative efforts include:

  1. Security Motion: A proactive approach to improving security in her district.
  2. Gender Bill: Advocating for gender equality and women’s rights.
