Amnesty International has condemned the attack by Boko Haram in Guyaku and Telabala communities of Gombi LGA of Adamawa State, where at least 29 persons were killed.
In a statement on Monday, the group said the attack occurred on Sunday, leaving residents searching for loved ones who fled during the assault.
According to the rights organisation, the attackers shot residents at close range and set fire to churches, classrooms, and motorcycles.
Survivors and witnesses said bodies were found scattered across the village, while elderly residents who could not escape were killed inside their homes.
The group also raised concerns over the continued abduction of women and girls, as well as widespread looting of property during attacks.
Amnesty International noted that the persistence of the violence highlighted the need for stronger measures to protect civilians, adding that authorities must ensure justice and reparations for victims and their families.
