A 23-year-old man, Olasunkanmi Shorunke, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly threatening to post nude video of his former girlfriend.

Shorunke, whose residential address was not provided, is charged with unlawful recording of intimate content and conduct likely to cause a breach of  peace.

The Prosecution Counsel, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in December 2025 at No. 8 Rev. Kwakpovwe St. Agboyi Estate, Alapere, Lagos.

She alleged that during a video call, the defendant secretly recorded a nude video of his former girlfriend, Faith Braimoh, 26, and later threatened to post it on social media.

According to the prosecution, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 259(b) and Section 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Lateef A. Owolabi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Mr Owolabi adjourned the case until September 15 for hearing.
