Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has sacked four of his commissioners in the state.

The Governor in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Christian Ita also relieved five persons of their various appointments in the state.

According to the statement, the affected persons are also directed to return all government’s vehicles and property in their possession to the Governor’s Chief of Staff.

The Governor, however, failed to state why they were relieved of their appointments but wished them well in all their future endeavours. DAILY POST recalls that Ayade had a few days ago decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC. It’s not clear yet if the sacked officials refused to move with the governor.

“The State Governor, His Excellency, Prof. Ben Ayade has approved the relief of the following persons of their appointments as commissioners: Mr Mike Usibe, Rita Ayim, Mr Asu Okang, and Ntufam Donatus Etim.

“Similarly, the underlisted persons have also been relieved of their appointments; Mr Leo Inyambe, Rt Hon. Orok Otu Duke, Mr Victor Okon, Mr John Etim Bassey and Hon. Agbiji Mbeh Abiji.

“Consequently, they are hereby directed to return government vehicles and property in their care with immediate effect to the Chief of Staff to the Governor.

“His Excellency thanks them for their services to the state and wishes them well in their future endeavors,” the statement said.
