Four corps members and a soldier were burnt to death after a military gun truck and a commercial bus collided along the Narehi area of Girei-Song LGA of Adamawa on Wednesday.

The police spokesperson in Adamawa, Yahaya Nguroje, said the fatal crash happened around 1:50 p.m.

According to the police, both vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, causing the commercial bus to flip over and burst into flames.

Mr Nguroje said, “Tragically, all five passengers aboard the Hummer bus were burnt to death after the vehicle caught fire following the collision. Preliminary identification reveals that four of the deceased were serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Adamawa state.”

Two of the corps members were Suleuman Juliet and Usman Shuaibu, both from Kaduna. Mr Nguroje said the remaining two had yet to be identified.
