Unidentified gunmen in the wee hours of Tuesday attacked the country home of Rep. Pascal Agbordike, representing the Ihiala Federal Constituency of Anambra.
The hoodlums allegedly set the lawmaker’s building ablaze at Ubahi Village in Mbosi, Ihiala Local Government Area.
Confirming the attack in Awka, he said the bungalow was completely burnt and that nothing was recovered.
He also said that he could not easily link the attack to anyone.
Mr Agbordike called on the Police and other security agencies to carry out thorough investigation into the incident to unravel the identity of those behind the attack.
“As I am talking with you, I am homeless; my building was completely burnt in the village, and nothing was rescued.
“I got a call at about 1 a.m. this morning that my house was under attack by hoodlums.
“They gained access to the compound and burnt everything down while shooting sporadically.
“I lost everything in that house, including all my documents,” the lawmaker said.
According to him, the building had five bedrooms and four living rooms.
Mr Agbordike was the immediate past deputy speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly.
The police public relations officer in the state, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident.
Mr Ikenga said that the command had commenced investigation into the attack.
