The police in Catalonia have arrested the son of Isak Andic, the founder of the fashion chain Mango, who died in 2024.

Mr Andic died at the age of 71 after falling 100 metres while hiking in Montserrat near Barcelona while hiking with his son, Jonathan Andic.

The junior Andic was arrested by the police on Tuesday in connection to his father’s death.

“I can confirm the detention of Jonathan Andic on suspicion of the homicide of his father, Isak Andic,” a spokesman for the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Catalan regional police, said in a statement on Tuesday.

The junior Andic, who inherited the fortune of his father, is expected to appear in court at Martorell.

The businessman was rated one of Spain’s wealthiest individuals. His estimated worth was $4.5 billion at the time of his death.

He founded Mango in 1984.
