Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn in Group L of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group stage round alongside Madagascar, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau.
The draw for the tournament scheduled to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda (PAMOJA) was conducted in Cairo on Tuesday, with the 48 participating countries drawn into 12 groups consisting four teams each.
Following the draw, Group C is expected to be the ‘group of death’ after 2023 champions Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana were paired together alongside the Gambia and Somalia.
Group A consists of Morocco, Gabon, Niger and Lesotho, while Egypt is in Group B with Angola, Malawi and South Sudan.
The qualifying tournament will take place between September 2026 and March 2027, with the top two teams in each group automatically booking their spots in the main tournament.
