A UK court has sentenced a Nigerian, Olukanyinsola Odebode, to 12 years in prison for raping a woman and assault another lady.

Judge Huw Rees sentenced Mr Odebode, 30, to a total of 12 years in prison after he was convicted of crimes bordeding on rape, sexual assault. He was sentenced on Friday.

Sentencing Mr Odebode, the judge said the Nigerian “pose a significant risk to members of the public”.

Investugations found that the 30-year-old Nigeria rapped one woman in the Gwent Police area and then after being arrested and released on bail went on to sexually assault a second woman in the Dyfed-Powys Police area.

Swansea Crown Court heard that Mr Odebode has been reported for his in appropriate sexual behaviour by seven women since 2019.

Mr Odebode committed the offences for which he was jailed in the past two years, between between June 2024 and September 2025, the court heard.
